The truth about ‘kidney-friendly’ recipes you find online.

Relying on recipes you find online or in books is risky for people with kidney disease. Recipes aren’t tailored to all stages of CKD—they’re often geared toward stage 3, and even then, they don’t work for everyone in that stage either.

I see this happen all the time—people come to me confused and scared because they thought they were doing things right, but their labs show they weren’t.

Think of it this way… someone in stage 2 and someone in stage 4 are both using that “kidney friendly” recipe. Who’s harming their kidneys?
“Kidney-friendly” recipes are a great starting point, but they rarely factor in your labs, CKD stage, or specific nutrient needs.
